Tirupati Laddu Prasadam: Price, Counters and Online
The prasadam every family waits to share at home.
The box everyone asks about
When we come home from Tirumala, the first question from neighbours is always about the laddu. Our grandmother broke it into small pieces so every house in the street got a share. That sweet smell of ghee and cardamom is part of every trip.
Below is how the laddu is given, where to buy more, and other prasadams. Book darshan first on the TTD website.
Quick answer: Every devotee who has darshan gets one Tirupati laddu as per the current TTD rule. Extra TTD laddus are sold at the laddu complex counters near the temple, usually ₹50 for a small laddu, with a limit per person. TTD does not sell the Tirupati laddu online.
Laddu and other prasadams at a glance

| Kalyanam laddu | With some sevas, limited sale | Bigger and richer |
| Vada | Limited, at times | Savoury |
| Annaprasadam meal | At the annaprasadam complex | No charge |
Approximate, from our visits. TTD changes timings and rules, so check the official TTD website before you go.
Where to collect and how
The laddu complex is near the temple exit, and signs lead you there after darshan. Show your darshan ticket or token at the counter. Extra laddus are paid for at the counter, within the limit TTD sets.
Carry a cloth bag or box. Plastic is banned on the hill. Buy only at TTD counters, laddus sold outside are not prasadam.
If you have a long trip home, keep the laddus in a steel or plastic free box and away from moisture. They stay good for several days. Share small pieces with neighbours and elders, that is how our family has always done it.

What is the size of a Tirupati laddu?
The regular laddu weighs about 175 grams. The big Kalyanam laddu is about 750 grams and is given mainly to Kalyanotsavam seva devotees.
Do we get a free laddu after Tirumala darshan?
As per the current TTD rule, devotees who have darshan get a laddu. Ticket holders often get it with their ticket. Rules change, so check with TTD.

Extra laddus are sold at the laddu complex counters near the temple. There is a limit per person, set by TTD.

It is a bigger laddu given for some sevas and sold in small numbers. It is heavier and richer than the regular laddu.

Kept dry in a closed box, it stays good for several days. We finish ours within a week.
Why does the Tirupati laddu have a GI tag?
It got a Geographical Indication tag in 2009, which protects its name and recipe so that only TTD can sell it as Tirupati laddu.
